Tour of Hall & Gardens - £15.00pp
Arrive to freshly brewed tea, coffee and biscuits. Once everyone is ready, your guide will show you around the Hall. Tours take approximately an hour. Depending on the size of the group, it may be split down into smaller parties. We normally like to have around 20 people per guide to ensure everyone can see and hear, and get a chance to ask any questions. Once the tour has ended you can explore the gardens around the Hall at your leisure.
Tour of Hall & Gardens with Trailer ride to The Pool - £18.00pp
The tour would be as described above, but with the addition of a ride on our trailer which is covered and seats 20 passengers. This ride takes you through the woods, along the winding waterside drive down to the Pool, which is just under a mile away from the Hall. You can get off the trailer to examine the beautiful James Paine bridge which was designed to hide the dam and also to see one of the follies located beside the Pool. The trailer ride tour is around 60 minutes long, and is ideal for the adventurous who prefer not to walk too far.
If you wish to enjoy a trailer ride, but have more than 20 people attending then we will split the group into two smaller groups. One group will do the Hall tour first, the others will do the trailer ride. They will then swap over before meeting back at the Hall for refreshments and departure.
Why not make a day of it?
If you would like to eat at the Hall, we are happy to provide a light lunch for private tour groups. If we are providing catering for the group we do ask that we cater for the full numbers coming for the tour. Our minimum number for lunch is 15 guests.
Our Ploughman's Buffet offers excellent value at just £12 per person. Enjoy a selection of cheeses, ham and locally produced pork pie, garden salad and a variety of delicious preserves and pickles from Chillington's own kitchen. Fresh bread and butter, mineral water and orange juice are served, and guests have the option to buy a glass of wine too. We can offer extras such as a dessert after lunch, or exchange the biscuits served with coffee for a slice of homemade cake.
