Partridge & Pheasant Shooting
Chillington Hall offers some of the very best driven partridge and pheasant shooting in Staffordshire and has a well established and very popular season.
With numerous drives presenting a mix of topography, and a new challenge at each one, they range from rolling arable valleys to narrow woodland rides.
We can offer smaller days of 40-50 birds as well as bigger 100 or 200 bird days. A filling lunch made with local produce can also be arranged and is hosted in the stunning Dining room at the Hall.
All guns attending our days must hold a current shotgun certificate and carry third party liability up to a level of £5,000,000. Membership of BASC, NGO or Countryside Alliance would cover this.
Please get in touch for prices and further details. Please contact us well in advance as we often have very limited availability.

Fishing
Chillington has a stunning sixty acre Pool which was created in the 1760's by the renowned landscaper Lancelot 'Capability' Brown and has an ornate bridge created by James Paine to disguise the dam. James Paine wrote that...
‘In this park is confessedly one of the finest pieces of water, within an inclosure, that this kingdom produces: the verges of which are bounded by fine plantations, intermixed with groves of venerable stately oaks’
The Pool contains various species of fish but mainly Pike, Perch, Roach, Bream, Tench and Carp. Permits to fish at the Pool are occasionally available, but only through the Brewood Angling Club. Please contact them directly via email on
.
Woodlands
Chillington Estate has ancient woodlands which have been managed by the Giffard family for generations. In the 1760's Lancelot 'Capability' Brown created much of the Park and the Arboretum to the rear of the Hall, home to many species of tree which creates an abundance of colour during the Autumn months.
We have an active management process in place where harvesting of timber takes place, and new areas are planted to replace these. The woodlands are managed to ensure we maintain the biodiversity of animals, wild flowers and insects that thrive here.
The woodlands provide a spectacular display of English Bluebells during the Spring, a vision of red, green and gold during the Autumn and provide shelter to game birds and wildlife during the Winter.
