Fungi Forage

Step into autumn at Chillington Hall, where the grounds and woodlands come alive with an extraordinary array of wild mushrooms.

Join us for an informative ramble through the estate’s woodland paths, discovering the fascinating fungi that flourish at this time of year.

Led by a knowledgeable local guide, you’ll learn to spot and identify a variety of specimens, each with its own place in the autumn landscape. Expect earthy scents, a relaxed stroll, and plenty of moments to pause and enjoy the sights and sounds.

After the forage, we’ll return to the Sun Terrace at the Hall for a hot drink and biscuits, and the opportunity to examine our fungi finds a little closer.

Two start times are available: 10.30am or 1.00pm, and walks will depart promptly. Please note: Due to the nature of the event, we cannot accept children under 12 or dogs. This event is not suitable for wheelchairs or mobility scooters due to uneven, narrow, and potentially muddy woodland paths.

Please wear clothing and footwear suited to autumn weather, and feel free to bring a camera, a notepad, or something to kneel on… your guide will be sharing plenty of insights you may want to capture!
