Summer Open Days
A summer visit to Chillington Hall is far more than a day out! It’s a chance to step inside one of Staffordshire’s most atmospheric historic estates, a family home lived in by the Giffards since 1178 and shaped by centuries of stories, architecture, and breathtaking landscape design.
Explore an 18th‑century Georgian masterpiece
Set on the Staffordshire/Shropshire border, Chillington Hall blends two striking Georgian styles - the 1724 south front by Francis Smith of Warwick, and the grand later additions by Sir John Soane. Inside, you’ll discover elegant rooms, family treasures, and the stunning Soane‑designed Saloon.
What to expect on your visit
Our friendly and immersive guided tour leads you through the Giffard family home, sharing the estate’s remarkable history, with many anecdotes and stories passed down through 30 generations. We are offering three guided tours each day at 12pm, 1.30pm and 3pm. Spaces are limited to just 20 guests per tour, keeping the experience warm and personal.
